Hey, hey, hey! Just dropping a short post because this year’s D23 has delivered some of the best news for Kingdom Hearts fans. And I need to do something else other than screaming around the house about it.
How good is it to finally get some good gaming news for once?
I’m so glad the rumours of Disney’s D23 showcase providing information for Kingdom Hearts IV were actually true, because we have this awesome trailer below. It’s essentially an extended gameplay trailer showing more game footage for Kingdom Hearts IV. I love the Coco world reveal – it is so thematic and looks sick. ALSO, Donald, Goofy and Mickey are confirmed playable in the trailer too. Big, big news.
The biggest news though is that we FINALLY have a release window for Kingdom Hearts IV! Late 2027- sooner than I dared to hope for. Depending on exact date of this game and the new Pokémon that is coming out late 2027 too, I just might have to take some time off work… the fate of the worlds depends on it, of course.
Disney also announced that an animated Kingdom Hearts TV series is in the works and is coming soon to Disney +. I wouldn’t have guessed that one! I’m just honestly relieved it’s not a live action. Planning a watch party as we speak. And somehow going to try and make time to play some of the previous Kingdom Hearts games (after needing to make space for the Final Fantasy games I still haven’t played). 2027 is looking absolutely incredible.
